Obituary of Dorothy Jean Rodgers

RODGERS, Dorothy Jeanage 66 of Enfield, passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2023, at home. Born in Vancouver, B. C., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sophie (Manderson) de Balinhard.

Dorothy was a loving, caring person who spent many years caring for the elderly. She loved her friends and her family, especially her 7 grandchildren. Everyone who knew her understood that her favourite saying was, “I love you more than life itself”.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, David; sons, Derek (Tiffany), Darren (Adelaide), Daniel (Kasey); grandchildren, Dakoda, Sayda, Kaden, Norah, Maebel, Remi, Everley; siblings, Lillian, Jim (Carol), Donna and Debbie.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, William “Bill”.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of life will be held at Shooter's Bar and Grill,194 Highway 2, Enfield from 2 - 6 PM on Sunday, February 5th, 2023.

The family would like to thank the caring and helpful doctors, nurses and medical staff at the palliative care unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. The family also thanks the VON nurses and staff, especially Dawn Ross and Dr. Courtney Smith. A special thanks to her sister, Donna, her private homecare worker, Anita Blanchard, and her naturopathic doctor, Dr. Cheryl Karthaus.
