Obituary of Sadie LaForest

LaForest, Sadie Mary- Wellington/ Nine Mile River age 85, of Nine Mile River, passed away January 4, 2014 at the home of her daughter Betty. Born in River Hebert, she was the daughter of the late Frank Scopie and Frances (Barrett). She was predeceased by her husband Felix and granddaughter Crystal (LaForest) Williams. She was predeceased by brothers; Mike, Leo, Charles, Bill, Frank; and sisters, Eva, Annie, Mary, Sophie, Rose. She will be sadly missed by daughter Betty and son in law Blaine MacLeod of Nine Mile River, under whose care she was kept safe, happy and comfortable for the past six years. She is survived by her children Bernadette (Pete), Joggins, Janette (Trent), Stewiacke, Richard (Becky), Lake Egmont, Betty (Blaine), Nine Mile River, Phyllis (Philip), Enfield; grandchildren, Paul, Gregory, Joleen; great grandchildren, Aaron, Mya, and Chase. Sadie was a faithful member of St. Bernard's Church, Enfield. Sadie loved gardening, reading, knitting and playing t.v. Bingo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 7pm to 9pm at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral mass will be at 10am Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at St Bernard's Church, Enfield, Fr. Frank Pellerin officiating. Special thanks to the VON and the palliative care team. Donations in Sadie's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Lung Association of Nova Scotia. Flowers gratefully accepted.
