Our sincere sympathy to the Coupar family on your Dad's passing. His was a life well lived. A great sense of humour and great friends of Phyllis and Lachlan Thompson (my aunt and uncle). Whether at the 9 Mile River dances, Brule cottages or in the village. I never knew anyone who could operate his whole business out of his shirt pocket (in the early days). His wonderful legacy remains in his family.

Please accept my sincere sympathy to Dennis' family and very close friends. As a youngster, I used to chat briefly with Dennis when he did landscaping for my father, Saul Meyer Offman, On Newton Avenue in Halifax, and my close uncle, Dr. Isaac K. Lubetsky, On First Street, close to my father's property. I thought so much of him as a person, I sent a sympathy when his wife Lila passed away. He responded to me acknowledging my note of sympathy and complimented my father and uncle from years gone by. Even as a youngster, I perceived Dennis to be a very fine gentleman.
Again, with sympathy to you on the loss of a wonderful person.

To The Coupar Family
Wade and I send our condolences to all Denny's family. Having read his befitting obituary, how fortunate for Elmsdale and surrounding area that Denny and Lila chose to make Elmsdale their home back in the 50's. Along with many others, I was fortunate to have worked for Elmsdale Landscaping back in the 80's. I still remember Denny as a respectful, fair man who never apologized for his boots being 'dirty' as that dirt was providing for his family! Hold tight to all you memories.

To George, Murray, Margo and Marlene and extended Coupar families:
Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your father Denny, he was a pioneer and a giant in the Nova Scotia landscape industry. He was one of the first industry person that I met when I started our business in 1974. He was always a true gentleman and I enjoyed discussions at our former Regional Landscape Atlantic meetings. The growth of his company from a one man show to now the largest landscape company in the Atlantic Region has been phenomenal and is a true tribute to his dedication to the Landscape industry in Nova Scotia. He leaves a legacy that his sons and grandaghter have carried on.

George Margo Marlene Murray and your families. Learning of the passing of Denny Coupar, my friend and source of deep, deep admiration brought to me a flood of memories I will cherish all my life. We go back most of sixty yrs. and when it is said a community helps raise every person in that community I think of Denny. He was my employer as a kid in school, a close friend of my family and a pillar of Elmsdale. I visited him about two years ago and also had the privilege of meeting Margo and Marlene once again. I will always fondly remember all of the Coupars. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

Our sincere sympathies and condolences to George, Margo, Marlene,Murray and families. I have had the privilege to know Denny both in the community and landscape industry for 40 years or so.He served as a role model for me and many others through the excellent examples he set as a community minded individual and hard working ethical business person and landscape professional. Many years ago, Denny said to me," people sometimes are in too big of a hurry to do something-and may need to take a bit more time to think about it...." Excellent advice.

He was a great visiter, he would drop in on Tony and l often, we so enjoyed Denny and June dropping in, they continued after Tony passed.Tony usually had a joke to tell, Denny would laugh as Tony laughed with him. He loved church suppers and the smelt fries in RJ, l remember he came to our house the night we brought Geoff home to instruct us how to feed the baby, Lila came next am with bum cream that was used on Kelly Ann, l have beautiful memories of Denny and Lila, l am sure he was welcomed happily in heaven. So pleased l visited Denny in Nov.Take care, hope l will get to service.
