PICARD, Linda Ann, age 65 of Lantz, passed away June 3, 2023 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. 

Linda will be remembered for her generosity, ease of friendship and memorable laugh you could hear from anywhere. There wasn’t a person she wouldn’t consider a friend and the community of East Hants will feel her loss. She volunteered at various organizations throughout her life, was an active participant in the church, and leaves behind a legacy in the craft world of countless championship wins in canning and crochet. 

She is survived by her husband Russell; mother, Elizabeth; son Brian (Vanessa) Picard; daughters, Melissa (Andy) Miller, and Crystal Picard (Jason Ballantyne); grandchildren, Adriana, Natalie, Piper and Marcus; fur-grandbaby, Arlo; sisters, Nancy (Auty) Smith, Debbie Auty, both of Gilford, ON; Sandy Horton of Bradford, ON; six nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by her fathers, Harold Auty and Thomas Horton. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm on June 16th, 2023 at St. Matthew’s Presbyterian Church, Elmsdale, with Rev. Beth Mattinson officiating. Linda's final request was to have everyone wear bright colours.

No flowers by request, memorial donations may be made to the Caring and Sharing Angel Tree Food Bank.

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, the Lantz Fire Department, EHS, VON Palliative Care Team and the countless friends and family who journeyed from near and far to visit with her in her final days.
