Obituary of Mike Morrison
MORRISON, Michael “Mike” Joseph -age 44, of Elmsdale, passed away on April 12, 2023, in Burns Lake, BC.
Born and raised in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, he was the beloved son of Daniel “Donnie” and Rita (Wrice) Morrison. He graduated from Cape Breton College in 1999, working many years as a machinist. Currently employed by Michels Canada where he worked and lived with his cousin / big brother Jim Cooley and wife Terry, sharing many special moments together. Mike met his love, Jenn McKenna, and was so close to moving back to Nova Scotia to live their dreams together. Mike loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, biking with family and friends, swimming and golfing. Enjoyed cooking “real food” and made the best chili ever. Mike also enjoyed shopping and saving at value village. Was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and had a passion for singing with his guitar especially enjoyed his jam sessions. Mike made too many friends to mention, making lifelong friends wherever his journey led him -from East to West Coast. He loves spending time with his nieces and nephews playing cards with family and always cherished his special friend Riley Hart. Besides his parents, Mike is survived by sister Terri (Orlando Trotter); nieces, Ashley, Claire and Olivia; nephew, Connor; great nephews, Landon and Gunner.
Mike was predeceased by grandparents Danny and Leona Morrison; Nan and Duce Wrice; and his niece, Maddie.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 29th 2023 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 860 highway 2, Elmsdale, Deacon Wilf Boudreau officiating; a Celebration of Life to follow in the Enfield Legion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caring and Sharing Angel Food Bank, 50 Old Enfield Road, Unit #2, Enfield, NS, B2T 1C9.
