MacPHEE, (COX) Lydie Olevia - age 98, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2017 in The Magnolia, Enfield. Born in Sterling Brook, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Susan (Faulkner) Cox. She was a retired teacher and spent most of her teaching career in Hants County until she retired in September 1978. She loved to quilt, knit, sew and do anything she could do with her hands. Her favorite was making quilts and knitting mittens. She is survived by her son, Lloyd (Judi), Mill Village; daughter, Karen, Brookfield; brother, Clarence; grandchildren, Todd, Ross and Rebecca (Travis) Veenhuis; six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Emery; sister, Gertrude and brothers Lloyd and Austin. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 4-6pm, Tuesday, June 13 in Ettinger Funeral Home. 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie, from where a funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, June 14, Rev. Catherine MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River. A special thanks to the staff of Bayberry Cottage who were so kind and gave her very good care while she was there. Also special thanks to faithful friend June Rogers. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NS Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
