COCHRANE, Rose Blanche - age 89, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2017 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor with niece Sheryl by her side. Born on March 19, 1928, in South Rawdon, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Stanford and Bessie (Haley) Deal. Aunt Blanche was the last remaining member of her family of seven brothers and sisters. Aunt Blanche did many odd jobs throughout her 89 years including working in the fish plants in both Halifax and British Columbia. There, in Halifax, she met the love of her life, Arthur (Art) Lovell. Aunt Blanche was a very caring and loving Aunt, sister-in-law and friend with the biggest heart, warmest hugs and ready at any time for a good laugh or a funny joke. Aunt Blanche was an avid traveler, was up for any adventure and enjoyed trips to the UK, across Canada and the US. Aunt Blanche loved her family very much and was a big presence at family events. She was always looking for that piece of pecan pie! She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Navy Reserves and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 9, Windsor, NS. Aunt Blanche is survived by many nephews and nieces who loved and adored her; step Daughter-in-law, Ruth Lovell, South River, Ontario; Many step grand and great grandchildren; step daughter, Mary Matilda (Babs) Wyatt, Pictou; brothers-in-law, Bob Cochrane, Garlands Crossing; Fred Cochrane, Grand Pre; special friend, Heather Fletcher and the apple of her eye, special great, great great niece, Elizabeth Webber. Besides her parents, Aunt Blanche was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur (Art) Lovell (1966); second husband, Charles (Charlie) Cochrane (2003); brothers John, Owen, Charles (Jiggs) and Art Deal; sisters Millie Smith, Mary (Bell) Deal and Marguerite (Marg) Elliott; stepsons Gerry Lovell and Arthur (Frank) Lovell; step daughter Claire Lovell. At her request, there be no visitation and a graveside service will be held 2pm Friday, April 21, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Dykeland Lodge for their excellent care.
