Obituary of Maude Rosaline Thompson

THOMPSON, Maude Rosaline (Morash) - 81, of Goffs, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023, at the QE II Halifax Infirmary Site.

Maude was born in Oldham to the late George and Bertha (Nowe) Morash on February 16, 1942. She worked as a laundromat attendant for Just Like Home Laundromat in Elmsdale for a number of years, prior to that she worked at Grand Masters Winery and Maple Leaf catering at Litton. She enjoyed many activities like Gardening, bird watching, knitting and crocheting. She was involved in the Goffs Fire Department Ladies auxiliary for ten years. She also volunteered on the Halifax County Planning committee for district 14.

Maude is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Donald of Goffs; daughter, Sherry; son, Don (Anna); grandchildren, Meagan, Donovan and Alice; siblings, Jean, Edward (Pat); Willard (Janet), Florence (Gordie), Frank (Brenda); many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Beaver, Hilda Fredericks, Irene Scott, Margaret Morash at infancy and brother, Terry Morash at infancy.

There will be no funeral service at this time. Visitation will be held at Ettinger Funeral home, 860 Highway No.2 Elmsdale on Sunday September 24, 2023 from 1pm until 4pm. Reception to take place afterward at Goffs Fire Department, 2040 Old Guysborough Rd., Goffs

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Lung Association.
