Obituary of James Douglas Dingle

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

DINGLE, James Douglas Grover – age 76 formerly of Admiral Rock, passed away on May 22, 2020 at The Mira Long Term Care Facility in Truro.  Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Esther (Turple) Dingle.

James grew up in Admiral Rock.  He started his career with his father working for a paving company.  He learned early to work hard and pay attention and that helped him secure a spot operating the machinery that he enjoyed. He was always up for a game of crib or a trip to bingo and in his later years found joy in completing puzzles while listening to his favourite music.  James was married for 46 years to his late wife Sheila (Hines) Dingle.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Beverly Wilson, Richard (Laurie) Dingle, Jo-Ann (Joey) Preeper and Ernest (Laura) Dingle; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister Suzanne Dingle, a brother in infancy and son-in-law Barrie Wilson.

Special thanks to the staff of The Mira for their care and compassion with James over the last few years. We would also like to thank the many home care providers who helped him throughout the years with the struggles from his Gulliain-Barre Syndrome prior to entering long term care.

Memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association:  50 Eileen Stubbs Ave Unit 120 Dartmouth, NS B3B 1W2 or a charity of your choice.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions an immediate family graveside service will be held at Admiral Rock Cemetery.
