Obituary of Emily Louise Lacey

LACEY, Emily Louise - age 80, Milford Station, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

 

 Emily was born in Nine Mile River to the late Norman and Eliza (MacPhee) Simmonds. She was a resident of Milford for the majority of her life. She was very proud to be involved in the community of Milford, and spent countless hours volunteering with several organizations over the years.

 

She will be greatly missed by her children, Doug (Lori) Lacey; Debra (Roy) MacKenzie; David (Wendy) Lacey and Danita (Jim) Newman; grandchildren, Chad, Lacey, Cody, Fred, Cyle and Cari and their families; as well as great grandchildren; sisters in-law, Edna Simmonds and Shirley Lacey; all the card crowd and her partner in crime, Jan.

 

Emily was predeceased by her loving husband, George Lacey; brother, Eric Simmonds, and infant son, Derek.

 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2 - 5 pm in the Milford Recreation Hall, 2288 Highway 2, Milford, NS B0N1Y0. This will be a drop-in casual affair.

 

 Memorial donations can be made to the Oak Hill Cemetery, c/o Milford Cemetery, 2119 Highway # 2, Milford, NS B0N 1Y0.
