Obituary of Clyde Wilson Ingraham

Please share a memory of Clyde to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

INGRAHAM, Clyde Wilson, age 81, Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a lengthy illness.  Born in Neil’s Harbour, he was a son of the late Wilson and Sarah “Nelle” (Lillington) Ingraham.

Clyde was a provider from the beginning as a fisherman at the age of 12, then an Apple Picker, a Great Lakes Ship Hand, a Milkman, a Crusher Operator, a Truck Driver, and a Carpenter. All his life as a seasoned hunter Clyde provided with a true shot taking pride to have no waste.

Family and friends were most important to Clyde. He shared many laughs and a couple of drinks where ever he was, but the cottage was a special place to be shared with two and four legged friends alike.

Reported to be where the saying originated – curses like a sailor, Clyde took pride in stirring up a good argument for entertainment but could always be recognized by his good-humoured laugh and a welcoming “Come in my Son”.

Clyde will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Irene (Ettinger); children, Richard (Susan), Christine (Mike), Pam (Shawn), Tanya (Scott) and Jeff (Joyce); grandchildren, Leah, Jenna, Ryan, Justin, Chelsea, Brianna, Mackenzie, Riley, Rebecca, Liam, Owen, Chase and Carter; brother, Garland (Sharon), sister, Judy (Dave); numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Greta; brother, Stuart; and a granddaughter Abigail.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.   A Celebration of Clyde’s Life will be held 2-4pm Sunday, December 16th

in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 111, 42 Mill Village Road, Shubenacadie.

Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.  Spring interment will take place in the Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village.
