ISENOR, John “Lester” – age 78, of Dutch Settlement, passed away suddenly on November 17, at home. Born in Dutch Settlement, he was a son of the late Charlie and Verna (Ashley) Isenor.
Lester started working at the brickyard in Lantz at a young age. He worked at Fairley and Stevens as a mechanic for a time. He then began working at Elmsdale Lumber Company, from where he retired. Earlier in life he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lester could often be found working at his wood pile and, in his garden. He and Inez took great pride in their vegetable garden and sharing it with their family. He enjoyed playing Bingo and cards.
Lester is survived by his wife, Inez (Logan); sons, Michael (Christine), Kingston, ON; Brent (Al), Lantz; Phillip (Roseanne), Dutch Settlement; Derrick (Kelly), Lantz; Leslie (Tara), Nine Mile River; Don (Bev), Dutch Settlement; daughter, Gail (Mike), Enfield; grandchildren, Mitchell, Jazmine, Colton, Ryan, Cole, Owen and Samantha; seven great grandchildren; sister, Rosina Thompson (Grant); brother, Albert (Mary Ellen) Isenor; sister-in-law Corrine. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Brady
Visitation 7-9pm, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Cremation will follow. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Lester may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
