Obituary of Carl Frederick Bushie

BUSHIE, Carl Frederick – age 85, of Princeport, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the home of his son, Jamie on April 7, 2018.

 

Born in South Maitland, he was a son of the late Fred and Georgina (Archibald) Bushie.

 

After serving in the army, he was a truck driver for many years. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great sense of humour and loved to affectionately tease, though he never said an unkind word about anyone. Carl loved having family around him. He enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in his backyard and was especially close to his dog, Sammy.

 

Carl is survived by his children, Jamie (Carol), Cindy (Dana) Reid, Vicky (Randy) Kruger; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Hester (Bob) Henry, Gladys (Murray) Julien, Kathy (Bill) Levesque; many nieces and nephews.

 

Carl was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret; brother, Byron; sisters, Hilda, Gloria, Irene.

 

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Carl’s life will be held 2pm Wednesday, April 11 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. A private interment will take place in Fisher Creek Cemetery, Green Oaks. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to your local SPCA.

 

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Henderson and the palliative care team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
