Obituary of Helen MacLean MacLEAN (ISENOR/MacPHEE) Helen Margaret, 94 of Enfield, formerly of Lantz and Dartmouth, passed away January 20th at her home. Born in MacPhee’s Corner, she was a daughter of the late William (WJ) MacPhee and Ethel (MacPhee). Mom enjoyed reading, doing Lexicons, country music jamborees, playing crib, and going to the seniors social. She was a member of the N.S. Liberal Party. Mom was a very strong and independent person. At the age of 51 Mom went to work at L E Shaw until she retired 1988 . She is survived by her children, Inez Nelson (Herb) Caledonia, Susan McGuire (Jerry) Lantz, Martin (Cathy) Dutch Settlement, Vernon (Sheila) Burlington On, Victor, Milford, Peter, Elmsdale, Graham, Selkirk, MB. She was Grammie Isenor to 19 grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Gerald (Wilma) MacPhee, Shubenacadie, sister in-law Muriel MacPhee, Mill Village, sons in-law Ernie Ledwidge and Bob Reid , numerous nieces and nephews Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Ken Isenor, second husband Mel MacLean; daughters Beverly Forbes-Reid, Catherine Ledwidge, great grandson Alex MacPhee, siblings Walter, Jim, Willard, John, Carl, Chester, Earl, Harry, Vernon, Billy, Victor, Gladys, Kit, Florence, Clara, Stella and two in infancy. Mom has been cremated. Visitation will be held at the Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, beginning at 12:30pm until time of service, 2pm Thursday January 25, 2018, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception area. A private family burial in Gays River Cemetery will be held in the spring. The family would like to say “Thank You” to the wonderful staff of the VON, Linda, Tohnee, Dawn, Jennifer and Dr. Smith and to Dr. Stewart Montgomerie, as well as special friends Lorraine Lewis, Kay Carroll and Hilda Strickland. Memorial donations can be made to Canadian Cancer or charity of one’s choice.
