Obituary of William James Harrison
HARRISON, William James “Bill” age 73 of Halifax, passed away peacefully September 14, 2017 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. He was son of the late William and Violet Harrison of Halifax. He was raised by the late Ab and Cleta McPhee of Shubenacadie.
He was a self-employed home contractor. Bill was known for his humour, gregariousness and generosity. He was cherished by his family and friends. He was happiest when tinkering around, maintaining his house on the lake. He enjoyed fishing and could often be found gardening with his cat, Happy, at his side. Bill kept up on current affairs and savoured a good debate.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Winnie (Walters); daughters Kelly (Bill Kim) Harrison, Wendy (Mark) Harrison-Allen; grandsons Ryan (Brooke) Harrison and Spencer Allen; brother Phillip Harrison; sister Marie Tumblin; foster brothers Bruce and Gary MacNeil; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Todd, brother Robert, sisters Kay and Edna.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A private graveside service will be held in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Brookside Cemetery.
