Obituary of Benjamin George Banfield

BANFIELD, Benjamin George , age 77 of Lantz, passed away on June 10, 2017 at home. Born in Grand Banks, NL, he was a son of the late Gordon and Myrtle (Bond) Brown and Alex Banfield. Ben worked at the Dartmouth Marine Slips for over 30 years. He loved baseball and hockey; enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved his music. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Probert) Banfield; children- Donna (Don) Foss, Ontario; Robert (Kathy), Stewiacke; Carol (Tony) Power, Lantz; Michael (Sherry), Rawdon; Mark (Carrie), Ontario; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Ruby(Larry) Ogden, Kentucky, USA. He was predeceased by grandson, Joshawa Power, siblings Mary Lou MacDonald and Bob Banfield, several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, visitation will be 7-9pm today, Monday, June 12, 2017 at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where a funeral service wil1 be held 11:00 am Tuesday June 13, 2017.
