Obituary of Andre Michael Haince
Please share a memory of Andre to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
HAINCE, Andre – age 62, of Enfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, May 23, 2017 in the VG Hospital, Halifax. Born in Middleton, the son of Yvan and Irma Haince of Elmsdale.
Andre was a dedicated employee of CN for over 40 years. After retiring, he became an employee of Universal Rail.
He certainly wasn’t an aspiring carpenter, but he was one of the best small engine mechanics around. Andre would never pass up the opportunity to go fishing, even bringing his rod to work everyday. He enjoyed Friday night card games in the garage, and “Thirsty Thursdays” with his buddies. Andre had a selective diet, but should receive credit for putting “Mary Rolls” on the map. Many people knew him and his little red ranger from his multiple trips to Elmsdale.
He was a beloved “Grankie” to his grandchildren and grand dogs, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.
Although his time with us was too short, he will be remembered for his dry sense of humour, devilish grin, and the twinkle in his eye.
Andre is survived by his parents, Yvan R. Haince (born in Quebec City) and Irma R. Haince (born in Bridgewater); his loving wife of 42 years, Debbie (Turple), Enfield; daughters, Amanda (Kirk), Shannon (Steve); grandchildren, Drew “Drew-Drew”, Cash “Little Man”, and Kirk “Kirky”; grand dogs, Molly, Mac, Morty; brother, Yvan I E (Pat) Haince, Chester; sister, Vonda (Dean) Haince- McConnell, Calgary.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation by request. A Celebration of Andre’s Life will be held at the Enfield Legion Friday, June 2 beginning at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the "Thirsty Thursday" Fund. Andre learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix, and loved who he wanted to love.
