HATTON, Richard Wayne, age 78, of Enfield, passed away on August 7, 2026, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Josephine (Francis) Hatton.

Richard was a longtime employee of Enfield Home Hardware and Scotian Homes. He was a member of the Enfield Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 133 for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved playing fast pitch, orthodox & darts and was known to be a great dancer.

Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda “Louise” Hatton (Angowski); son Darren; daughter Melanie (Chuck) Barkhouse; granddaughters, Taylor and Brooklyn; sister-in-law, Ruth Hatton; many in laws; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Thomas Hatton, Harry Hatton and William Hatton, in infancy; sisters, Vivian Keeling, Florence McNamara, Joan Hurshman, Jacqueline Dendoff and Josephine Greenfield.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1-5PM Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Enfield Legion, 50 Old Enfield Road.
