SMITH, Gordon Bel Alexander - 68, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026 at the VG Hospital Palliative Care Unit.  Gordon was known for having the love of the outdoors especially hunting for deer and fishing.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jane (Sullivan) He is survived by his brother Russell, sisters Viola and Nina. He was preceded in death by Mother Nancy, Father James and brothers Danny, Keith, and Murray Sisters Victoria, Donna, Irene and June

No visitation by request. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 7 at 11am at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie, NS with Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Light refreshments to follow. Burial in Brookside Cemetery Mill Village, 96 Robinson Road Shubenacadie. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
