Christopher William Murphy Obituary
MURPHY, Christopher William – 67 of Indian Brook. Born in Musquodoboit and grew up in Halifax for most of his life until he found his forever home in Indian Brook with his wife and daughter. He was the son of the late Dorothy and Francis Murphy.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by daughters, Candice Michelle Murphy (Laurie Ballard); wife, Sonya Brooks; best friend, Greg Bennett and many others.
Chris is survived by daughters, Tanya Murphy and Shaylah Murphy-Brooks; sons, Christopher Murphy and Michael Murphy; mother-in-law, Eileen Brooks; brothers, Bommer Murphy (Stephanie), Francis McCarthy (Emilie), Joey McCarthy; sisters, Dorothy Murphy (Brian), Brother-in-law, Vincent Brooks; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews/great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by best friends Christopher Labrador, Troy Michael, Christian Michael and many others.
Chris worked as a cook since he was 16. He worked in many different restaurants such as the Lion’s Head, the Derby, Steak and Stein (Halifax), Whistlers (Stewiacke) and many others. His favourite job was working on the train. He absolutely loved that he had the chance to cook for Dolly Parton.
Chris enjoyed life, as he put everything into his work and hobbies. Fishing was a huge passion for him. Before work his biggest passion and accomplishment was his family. The love he had for his family and friends was endless, He did absolutely everything he could just to make them happy and feel loved, especially his children and wife. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was one of the strongest, hard working, loyal and most genuine person you’d ever come across. He loved with his entire heart. Once you became his friend that was it, you were his friend for life. Scrabble was also his thing but only with his mother-in-law, that was their game. So many memories that he made on his time here on earth, the endless memories that so many will remember forever when they hear or think of his name. Habs fan for life.
Even at the end, he expressed all his love, appreciation and respect for everyone in his life.
He walked to the gates of heaven in the hands of his mother and wife.
He will be extremely and deeply missed by absolutely everyone who loved and cared for him, most importantly his daughter, Shaylah. (His Tu’s)
