THURROTT, Harold Frederick “Bumpy”- age 85, Hilden, formerly of Stewiacke, NS, passed on April 10, 2026. Fred was a devoted husband to Eileen (Blackmore) for more than 51 years until her passing in 2012. He was lucky to find love and companionship again with Millie and they married in 2014.

Fred is survived by his second wife, Millie (Meadows) Hilden; his children, Bruce (Germaine) Stony Plain, AB, Fred (Sue) Stewiacke, NS , Gail (Jamie Clarke) East Port L’Hebert, NS, Tony (Vickie) Redcliff, AB; his grandchildren, Colten, Gunnar, Holly, Joseph, Andrew, Megan, Kristen, Jennie, Robert, Deven, Katie, Maddy; 28 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Keith, Dorothy, Beryl, and Ruby. He is also survived by Millie’s children, Michael, Donna (Wayne Belefontaine), and Larry.

He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Eileen; his great grandchildren Liam and Ryland; and his siblings, Ella, George, Wally and Cameron.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. Funeral Services will be held at Ettinger’s Funeral Home on May 2nd at 1:00pm with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Stewiacke East and reception at Stewiacke Legion to follow.
