GOULD, Evelyn - age 77 of Enfield, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Tatamagouche, she was a daughter of the late William Russel and Nelda Belle (Giddens) Gould

Evelyn enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble and Sudoku.  She enjoyed studying her ancestry and visiting gravesites. She loved playing music and singing with Phil and entertaining for people.  She had a strong bond with family and loved being surrounded by those she loved.  She had a love for travelling and visiting family.  She spent many days in the garden and enjoying the outdoors walking and biking. Evelyn had such a calming presence and those who knew her always felt her warming and welcoming personality and love.  Her kindness and gentle nature will be truly missed by everyone.

She is survived by her common-law spouse, Phil Chiasson, her son, Jeffrey (Kelly) Smith; stepchildren, Paula, Sue, Larry, Steven and Shelley; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her brother, Bob (Marilyn) Gould ; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by many aunts and uncles. 

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at her beloved home, 41 Rockcliffe Drive, Enfield, Nova Scotia.

The family would like to extend their eternal gratitude for the exceptional care and comfort she received at Elk Court Nursing Home. The staff went above and beyond to make Evelyn and family feel truly cared for during her short time there.
