COOKE, Georgina Bertha “Geo” – 95 of Upper Nine Mile River and formerly of Alton, passed away on March 12, 2026 at Mitchell’s Rest Home. Born in Cooks Brook. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Mary “Mamie” (Wilson) Mitchell.

She was the last surviving member of the immediate family. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She worked at Stanfield’s for 15 years before becoming a stay at home Mom. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 70, Stewiacke, NS.

She is predeceased by her husband, Carl, daughter, Ruby, brothers, Wilbur and Earl, sisters, Thelma and Ruth, nephews, Freddie and Myrlan, nieces, Gloria and Lois. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00pm in Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie location, 2812 Hwy 2, Shubenacadie. Cremation to follow with a private graveside service in the spring of 2026 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East.

No flowers by request, donations in Georgina’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia Diabetes association.
