GIBBON, Evelyn Joan, age 85 years, formerly of Hardwood Lands, NS, passed away on February 16, 2026 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. 

Evelyn was a registered nurse, graduating in the 1961 class of Halifax Children Hospital. In 1963, she was diagnosed with MS. Evelyn battled the disease with strength and determination. Her husband, Bob was a devoted caregiver. Evelyn and Bob spent many winters in Florida. She was quite the card shark.

Evelyn is survived by brothers-in-law, Mark Gibbon, Cleve Isenor and John MacDonald; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Blois, Margie Gibbon, Peggy Gibbon, Linda Isenor, Janie Gibbon and Barbara MacDonald; many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bob, parents John and Ella(Keyes) Blois, brothers- Orrin and Archie and sister Marion Smith, parents-in-law, Annie and Bertis Gibbon, brothers-in-law, Billy Gibbon, Larry Gibbon, Allen Gibbon, George Wells and George Smith; sisters-in-law, Laura Blois, Bernice Gibbon and Betty Wells. 

Cremation has taken place.  There will be a graveside service at 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 30,2026, at Elmsdale Cemetery. 

Donations maybe made to Hardwood Lands Cemetery or Elmsdale Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the workers at Dykeland Lodge. You were always kind, patient and respectful to Evelyn. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
