MILLER (WEST), Sandra Marie – age 77, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on February 8th, 2026, at the Victoria General Hospital Site, QEII in Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Roberta (Misener) West.

Sandra was a lifelong resident of Mill Village, moving there at just 8 years old.  She had various careers throughout her life, starting out with working at the telephone company in Shubenacadie, then later Shubenacadie Pharmasave where she spent many years as a Pharmacy Technician. After joining forces with the love of her life, Brian, in 1990, she owned and operated Miller's Restaurant for several years before moving on to be the business manager of several of their family businesses such as Miller's Irving, Miller Towing, and Miller's Auto Sales. Sandra was a very family-oriented person, family was everything to her, and she was the 'glue' that held the family, immediate and extended, together.  She very much loved her dogs, Benji, Scamp and Brodie. They were all her babies too, and they knew it.  Sandra loved flowers, and took great joy in gardening, as well as watching the birds at her many feeders.  She was an amazing cook and baker, as was well known for her carrot cake and her legendary pies, a talent she inherited from her mother, Roberta.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Brian, children, Pamela (Jimmy), Paul (Meredith); step-children Rhonda, Jeff (Marcie); son-in-law, Andrew Ryan; grandchildren, Autumn (Damien), Keigan (Karl), Jessica (Justin), Lynden (Brendan), Mikayla, Shae-Lyn, Erika (Evan), Calvin, Duncan, Evelyn (Braden) and Leah; 8 great grandchildren, sister Linda Helpard, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Shelley Ryan and siblings, Stewart, David and Steve.

A private family service will be held later.
