McCORKILL, Brian Robert Garfield – age 76, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Gary and Marjorie (Boutilier) McCorkill.

Brian was a welder by trade and operated his own company for many years.  He previously worked for Farmers Dairy in Hammonds Plains and retired from Darose Control Systems.  He enjoyed being outdoors and building things. His daughters have many fond memories of him, some of their favourites being the times they went camping on the cliffs in Cape Jourimaine, NB.  Brian had a big personality, a sweet laugh and a sparkle in his eyes. He was known for his sarcasm, a quick wit and love of a good dirty joke.

He is survived by his daughters, Annette (David Pittman); Tami (Keith MacDonald); grandchildren, Connor Pittman and Dezirae Pittman; great grandchildren, Anise and Weston; furry sons, Snowball and Thunder; special friend, Marjorie Willcott; sisters, Sheila Ross and Linda (Fulton) Killen; sister-in-law, Sandra Mallard; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Jean (nee MacHardie); brothers, Kevin and Neil; sister, Wendy; brother-in-law, Frank Ross.

Cremation has taken place, a graveside service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 11AM in Hardwoodlands Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro and the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.
