Debra Shawn Barkhouse (Flemming) - beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully January 16th at the age of 64. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born November 17th, 1961, to the late Darrell and Vivian Flemming, 1961, of Shubenacadie.

Throughout her life, Debi was a source of unwavering strength, love and guidance to her family and friends. She married her beloved Husband Leslie and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Together they raised Children Dwight Barkhouse and Deidre Manning who will be forever grateful for her love and support.

In addition to her husband and children she is survived by her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Tegan (Chase) Macphee and Shamus (Payton) Manning. Along with her brothers, Dwayne and Bert Flemming; sister, Francine Flemming; Aunt, Coreen (Frances) Flemming; sisters and brothers in law, nephews and nieces and her special boy, Beanie.

Debi cherished her time at Martinique beach where you could find her peacefully knitting, strolling the beach and enjoying a good girls weekend away.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24th, 2026, from 1-4 at the Shubenacadie Legion branch 111.

Much thanks to the Palliative care unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for the wonderful care in keeping her comfortable.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Debi’s memory to the SPCA or charity of choice.
