JOY, Diane Judy, age 79, of Truro, formerly of South Maitland, passed away on January 7, 2026 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.  Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Minnie Johnson. 

Diane had faith and attended church throughout her entire life.  She was a trumpet player in the Salvation Army at a young age.  Diane worked at K-Mart in Truro for a few years.  She loved spending time with her family and playing cards with her grandchildren (especially Skip-bo). Diane also enjoyed BINGO. Her family has fond memories of summer trips to Ontario with her when the children were young. 

She is survived by her husband, Ken, daughter, Judy, of Bible Hill; sons, Raymond, of Middle Sackville; Colin (Kathy), of Debert and Phillip (Troy), of Halifax; grandchildren, Felicia (Bruce), Susan (Mike), Brandon and Devon; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Warren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Doug, Pete, Donny, John, Eileen, Shirley, Kenny and Betty.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Ettinger's Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.  A private family committal will be held in spring at St. John the Baptist Anglican Cemetery, Latties Brook.
