Elizabeth Anne Mary "Betty Anne" Ritchie Obituary

RITCHIE, Elizabeth Anne Mary “Betty Anne” – age 72, born July 2nd, 1953, formerly of Urbania, passed away peacefully, on December 18th, 2025, at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Minnie Bremner.

Betty Anne spent over 20 years building her career at Pratt & Whitney as a Manufacturing Specialist. Her favorite pastimes in her younger days included playing softball for The Urbania Rookies and being the life of the party wherever she went. In her later years she continued her love for softball by being a spectator with her cowbell loud and near. She grew to love and share the game of golf at River Oaks with her loving husband. When she wasn't on the course you could find her having a pool day with her family & friends. She also had a love for gambling sitting for hours scratching tickets and pulling tabs. At Christmas you could find her being entertained by her very large collection of dancing Christmas toys. To know Betty Anne was to love her.

Betty Anne is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Brian; her two daughters, Natasha (Jeff), Marilee (Steven); and her loving companion her Golden Retriever, Buddy; her two greatest joys, granddaughters, Macayla and Peyton; and all her wonderful nieces/nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

The people who considered her as their Mom, BA, or Nana, she loved you as much as her own. As well as all her Besties she also loved you dearly.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie.
