FOWLER, Joan Marie- age 92, of Fort Ellis, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully and surrounded in love on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, at the Magnolia Continuing Care Facility in Enfield. Born in Buffalo NY, she was the eldest daughter of John and Kathleen (Hall) Arnold.

Joan was a lady. She never had a lot in life, but you’d never know it.  She always dressed beautifully with all the matching accessories and carried herself with poise. In her younger years, she worked at the Tourist Bureau in Stewiacke, then private home care. She was always very creative and artistic. She enjoyed company and a good laugh, but she was also very comfortable in her own company. In her later years, the “puzzle lady” could often be seen doing a jigsaw, reading a book, painting, or winning at bingo.

Joan loved hard and was also very well loved. She was a great sister, wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness was unmatched, but she could tell you what you were doing wrong if you needed to hear it.

Joan is predeceased by many family and friends but most notably her one true love, her husband Frank who passed in 1982. His loss never lessened for her. 

She is survived by many more family and friends who will greatly feel her loss for many years to come. There will never be another with such kindness and grace.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmdale. Burial will take place in the spring beside her family in Fort Ellis.
