Sterling Boyd Tattrie Obituary

Sterling Boyd Tattrie, born September 5th, 1931, of Porters Lake, was sent to his final resting place on December 11th, 2025. He was the son of the late Victor and Viola Tattrie.

Sterling spent his life married to his soulmate, Vera. Their love was so profound that he left this world within days of her death, as though they simply could not be separated.  Together they made their homes in Fletchers Lake, South Branch, and Porters Lake. Sterling was known for his kindness and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed gardening, loved bowling, was an active member of the Lions Club, and had a fondness for baseball, dogs, and cats. He was a lifelong carpenter, a job he loved so much he did not retire until he was 78. He brought joy wherever he went and always had a joke ready, right up to his very last days.  Sterling will be sadly missed by his beloved cat, Buttercup, who remained by his side in his final moments

Sterling is survived by his daughter, Tanya Tattrie (Mark); daughter, Shiann Barkhouse (Gus); daughter, Amberlie Tattrie; special grandson, Daniel Tattrie (Tracy); granddaughters, Amanda, Samantha, Courtney (Holden), Katie and Claudia; grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren, Tanner and Reid, along with a great-grandson soon to be born; sister, Ester.

Sterling was predeceased by his wife, Vera, son, Alexander “Sandy” Tattrie, and by his sons-in-law, James Barkhouse (Shiann) and Douglas Leck (Amberlie).
