It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of William Charles Peter Goodbrand “Bill”

He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the age of 85 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on November 30, 2025

Bill was born in Hamilton, Ontario on October 8th, 1940. He was predeceased by his parents, John Russell Goodbrand and Madona Elizabeth (Burr) Goodbrand, his sisters; Joan O Sullivan, Marilyn Peskett, Ellen La Pointe; his brothers, Jack Goodbrand, identical twin brother, Robert “Bob” Goodbrand; granddaughter, Shae-Lynn Goodbrand, nephews, Mark O Sullivan, Timothy O Sullivan; parents in-law, Norman and Gladys Herridge; sisters-in-law, Maise Crowther, Elizabeth Douthwaite; brothers in-law, Joshua Herridge, “Junior” and Roger Herridge.

Bill enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 18 and served 25 years, retiring as a Marine Engineer – Petty Officer second class. He was very proud of his career and enjoyed travelling around the world serving his country. A truly respected HERO to his family always.

Bill was a very loving husband to his wife Patricia “Pat” for 55 years. He was the foundation of strength, love, and support for his family. Together they raised their three daughters: Tina, Alicia, and Holly (daddies harem).

Bill’s passions were classic cars, watching NASCAR racing, travelling to Ontario and California to visit family. Then later in life he enjoyed the simple pleasures playing ball with his fur baby Sadie, bird watching, going for drives, and stopping for a nice meal with his sweetie, Pat. Bill’s most treasured times were spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at family gatherings, which is what filled his heart the most, the love for his family and their love for him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Goodbrand (Herridge), daughter Tina Hutt (Perry), Alicia Hahn, Holly Goodbrand, grandchildren, Tyler (Jen), Ben (Brooke), Brandon (Lauren) Daphnee (Dominque), Victoria (Connor), Alex (Jess) Abbie; great grandchildren, Cora, Chloe, Leni, Brody and his fur baby “Sadie the lady”

The family would like to give a sincere, heartfelt thank you to Dr Kepkay (Elmsdale Medical Center), the Palliative Care team (Truro Hospital) and his continuing care nurses, Jill Eagleston and Sally Creelman.
