Patricia Mae Pictou Obituary

PICTOU, Patricia Mae “Pat” – age 93, of Sipekne’Katik, passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2025, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Granville Centre, she was a daughter of the late Dennis James and Ella Mae (Delong) Brooks.


 


Patricia was a survivor of the Shubenacadie Residential School, and due to that she was always looking out for children in the community, whether it was taking them in or providing meals. She was an avid member of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Indian Brook, and was always setting up for services and helping out with Confession and Communion. Patricia was also a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality, since the age of 17.


 


Patricia had a great love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


 


She is survived by her children, Mary Rose Watts, Anne Pictou (Debbie), Susan Morrison (Richard), Murray Pictou (Marion) and Grace Pictou; grandchildren, Roger, Laurie, Trisha, Jade, Maryanne, Dennis, Mallory, Justin, Jameson; great grandchildren, Cami, Maddox, Isla, Theo, Amelia, Freyja, Bella, Rydell, Richard, Michael, Amanda, Jackson and Pope; including several great great grandchildren.


 


Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Louie, Dennis, Charlie, Sandy, Russell and Paul; husband, Leonard Alexander Paul; four infant children; son, Claude Pictou and youngster son, John Alexander Pictou.


 


Visitation will be held at 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm on both Tuesday, November 25th and Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, at St. Kateri’s Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook. Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Cremation to follow.


 


Pat loved helping children, so in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sipekne’Katik Youth Centre. Email transfer: sm200@hotmail.com
