Matilda “Tillie” Mae (MILLER) HENRY


1937  -  2025


 


HENRY (MILLER), Matilda  “Tillie” Mae– age 88, of Stewiacke, passed away surrounded by her family on November 1, 2025, in Debert Court, Debert. Born in Stewiacke East, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Stella (Rogers) Miller.


Tillie was a loving mother to her boys and enjoyed being a mom to many others in the community. She loved her animals, and pets would always gravitate to her. Tillie loved playing cards and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed travelling and camping, having travelled as far as the Alaska Highway with the family cats no less. The family travelled coast to coast, from Signal Hill, Newfoundland to British Columbia- all in a station wagon with a trailer in tow.


She is survived by her sons, Robert and Donald (Rosanna); grandchildren, Alexa and Bradley (Kayla); great granddaughter, Annabelle; sister, Myrtle; brother in-law, Tim Millen, special son, Rick (Shannon) Bennett, special grandson, Craig Bennett; numerous nieces and nephews.


Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley “Skip” Henry, brother, Henry Miller; sisters, Phyllis Neill and Grace Millen; sister in-law, Joyce Miller; brothers in-law, David Pemberton and Bill Neill.


Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A private graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the IWK Foundation or Pine Grove Cemetery.
