ARCHIBALD, Greta Mary – age 94 years, of Glenmore, Nova Scotia, passed away on October 10th, 2025, at the Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth. Born in Falmouth, Nova Scotia, on November 13th, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lily (Payzant) Duncanson.

Greta graduated from VG nursing school in 1952, and worked as a nurse -Red Cross outposts, original hospital in Middle Musquodoboit and finally at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, she retired in 1991. She loved her wood working projects, quilting, puzzles, gardening and knitting, also her many pets. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Greta will be missed by her daughters, Marie Gaetz; Noreen “DeeDee” Archibald; kindred daughter, Debbie “Dee” Wilson; grandsons, Nick Gaetz and Michael Gaetz (Jillian Newcombe); great granddaughter, Adrianna; sister, Audrey Sturk; sister-in-law, Doris Duncanson; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Carl; sisters, Joyce (Cecil) Gates, Bev (Robert) Wagstaff, Madlyn (Sherman) Ogilive; brothers, Doug and Ralph.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. There will be no visitation or funeral service. We hope that everybody that knew Greta will celebrate her life in their own way.
