BARTLETT, Frederick Robert “Fred”-  age 66, of Truro, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2025 in the Victoria General Site, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.  Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Laurie and Gert Bartlett.

Fred was a member of the Douglas Street Recreation Centre, enjoyed lawn bowling, pickle ball, and bowling.  He loved walking, biking and drumming up at Victoria Park with his friend, Nancy.  He left Truro and  moved to BC with his mom at age 11.  Fred worked in BC as a cabinet maker and drove a delivery truck.  In retirement he moved back to Nova Scotia to enjoy time with his family.  He loved hunting and fishing with his brother in law, Richard Conway.  Fred had a green thumb “to say the least”, he enjoyed his house plants , which he had 350 or more.  He loved socializing and attending meetings and fun activities at CMHA, Colchester Branch.

He is survived by sisters, Claire Recina, New Zealand; Mary Casey, Port Howe; Doris Conway, Hart Lake; and Joyce Bartlett, BC; brothers, Jim Weatherbee, BC; Ronnie Bartlett, BC; Charlie Bartlett, Truro; and Tim Bartlett, Great Village; good friends, Nancy and Lucy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Guy Weatherbee, Leonarde Weatherbee and Billy Weatherbee; sisters, June Delaney and Winnie Delaney.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to CMHA, Colchester Branch.
