Obituary of Matti Claire Huan Allison

Please share a memory of Matti to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

ALLISON, Matti Claire Huan  - age 20, of Lantz - We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of our precious Matti Claire on September 24, 2025, at the Halifax Infirmary following complications from brief illness. Matti Claire was born in Chonqing, China and she was the daughter of Michael and Doreen (MacDonald) Allison.

Matti became part of the Allison family on July 23, 2006, and our incredible love for her grew from the first moment we laid eyes on her. Matti possessed a calm, quiet and gentle spirit, and she was a bright light in this world to all who knew her. Her amazing radiant smile always lit up the room. She was incredibly kind, loving and accepting with a huge heart and she never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved her family immensely, her dedicated circle of friends, her school and her two cat fur babies, Noah and Lucy. She also loved her daily Tim Hortons iced coffee with a shot of caramel and she enjoyed going to restaurants with her family and friends.

Matti graduated from Hants East Rural High in June 2023, and she was a third year student at Mount St. Vincent University working toward her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She was truly fascinated by her courses and loved studying about the brain. She was a night owl just like her Mom, and they spent many late hours talking after everyone else was in bed. She liked doing the word jumble with Dad, she loved chatting with her sister Cianna about things her parents were not supposed to hear, her Friday chats to her big brother Ryan reviewing the latest music and catching up with big sister Mariah about cooking and their cats.

Matti was an old soul who always had time to listen to her friends and family, and she would give encouragement, but she never judged. She loved to cook especially paste, bake for her family and friends and she loved to read. Matti loved to listen to music and she knew every detail about Taylor Swift that was ever published.

Matti is survived by her parents, Michael and Doreen (MacDonald); brother, Ryan; sister, Mariah (Armin Sokolic); sister, Cianna Rose; niece, Elodie; nephews, Gabriel and Beau; and maternal grandparents, Clarence and Dora MacDonald. She is also survived by her aunt, Darlene (Eric Theurer); uncles, Kevin & David MacDonald; aunt, Nancy (Jack Lattie); aunt, Star Ramsell; uncle, Howard Allison; as well as cousins, Stephanie (Dan) and Earl Lattie (Crystal). Matti loved her truly special friends, Jessie, Dahlia, Alison, Hope, Victoria and Jacqueline who were like family to Matti and will always be a part of our family.

Matti was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Ruth (Artie Reader), Arthur Allison; uncle Darin Randell and cousin, Breanna Ramsell.

Heaven has a new angel, but here on earth we are all better people because of Matti Claire.
