Willa Darlene Geldart Obituary

GELDART, Willa Darlene- age 72 of Coldstream, passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 21, 2025. Born in Oshawa, ON, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Pearl (Butland) Geldart.

A devoted wife and mother, Willa built her life around providing for her family. She was known for her welcoming nature and spent countless hours around her kitchen table sharing coffee, tea, and stories.

Willa enjoyed many passions throughout her life. In her younger years, she could often be found with crochet hooks or knitting needles in hand or baking and cooking for her family. Many evenings were spent at the Bingo Hall or gathered around the table playing cards. She and Bruce also loved their adventures together, especially autumn drives to take in the fall colors and do a bit of shopping.

With their children, Willa and Bruce spent many years in Ontario raising and competitively racing huskies—a time she cherished deeply and would often recall with pride, sharing stories and photos of each beloved dog. After moving to Nova Scotia, she and Bruce spent several years fishing the Shubie River for Gaspereau, making lifelong friends and memories. They also enjoyed fishing local lakes, and Willa proudly held a fishing license as recently as last year.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Bruce; son, Todd (Karen Leppard), daughter, Kelly (Keith Miller); grandchildren, Mickayala, Nicholas, Marissa, EmmaJean, Isaac, Andi, Jessica, Anthony (AJ), and several great grandchildren; brother, Dale (Candy) Geldart; sisters, Sheila Hannah, Roberta (George) Young, Marvena (Terry) Dionne and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, LeRoy Lyle Geldart and brothers-in-law, Gary Hannah and Kevin Young.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life but would ask you to join them for a reception that will take place at the Carrolls Corner Community Centre on Wednesday, October 1st, from 6–9 p.m.
