Q: What was one of the qualities of Joseph that you loved most?
A: We will always remember Joe’s beautiful smile. When he came to Cape Broyle for a visit, when we met him at the door he always had a huge smile on his face. He loved to always reminisce about the old days of his growing up & how life was a lot simpler. All the fun times, he had with his friends, his sliding buddies, & his time spent with his grandparents. These memories were engraved in Joe forever. We miss these times that Joe came to visit us in FairyPond & his big smile at the door. Rest in Peace Joe, you will live in our hearts forever.

My deepest condolences to Eileen and the family. I was heartbroken when I heard of Joes passing. He was one in a million, in every sense of the way. Compassionate, caring and a jokester to everyone he met. His smile was contagious and put everyone at ease. I will never forget the year we were mummering and went to Joe and Eileen’s. We knocked on the door and Eileen ran from the door, Joe of course opened and in we went. Singing and dancing around , he offered us drinks and we left. Til this day I am not sure if Joe knew who we were. It was great ! R.I.P. JOE , you will truly be missed in most was than you know. Hugs to your family ❤️

It is with deep sadness that we send our condolences to Eileen, Jennifer, Carolyn & families on the passing of a great friend. We were shocked to hear of how sick Joe was. He came to our home quite often both in Labrador & in Cape Broyle. We will always remember his beautiful smile. We spent many hours reminiscing about our time in Cape Broyle, Labrador & elsewhere over the years. He always loved to talk about the old times. He will be sadly missed by all his family & friends. Our thoughts & Prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time in your lives. Love to all the family.❤️
RIP Joe.

Joe and I played minor hockey in Happy Valley- Goose Bay but on opposing teams. Those were the days when body contact was permitted for all ages. I can tell you Joe was one player I avoided at all costs...not because he was a nasty player but he wouldn't miss a chance to lean on you if he had the chance. Always had a lot of respect and if Joe was playing hockey, Al was always there to watch and to cheer him on. Joe moved away as a young adult and I only made contact with him via FB after I moved to Halifax in the 1990's. Lots of fond memories of Joe, may I add sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Joe.

I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I remember him from church when I was growing up, and I know he shared many years of fellowship and brotherhood with my late father through the Knights of Columbus. Both my parents, Bonnie and Wayne Sr., thought very highly of him and valued their connection over the years. On behalf of my mom and myself, I extend deepest condolences to Eileen and the family.
