ISNOR, Shirley Jeanette -age 93 of Elmsdale, passed away at the QEII Health Science Centre, VG Site on September 17, 2025. Born in Elmsdale, she was the daughter of the late Edith and Braden Fraser.

Shirley was a lifelong member of the Riverview United Church in Elmsdale. She actively participated as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher, UCW, Caring and Sharing and worked as a secretary for various ministers for several years before working for her brothers at Commercial Highway Services and ending her career with the Shaw Group

Shirley was a gracious lady first and foremost. She lived with integrity and truth. She was kind, generous and loved to laugh. She took pleasure in the simple things like watching the hummingbirds, seeing the deer in her backyard, a bloom on her orchids and feeding the crows. She loved children who seemed to gravitate towards her wherever she went. She was an avid knitter and needlepoint artist. She knit hats for the IWK, mittens and sweaters for Caring and Sharing and anyone looking for a baby set or blanket. Her beautiful handiwork is spread across the country.

Shirley was an excellent baker and loved baking for her family, church suppers, the sick, grieving or lonely. She would not see anyone go hungry and regularly donated to the church food bank. She had a big heart and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Sandra, Janice, Jimmie and Barry, a son she lovingly placed for adoption; grandchildren, Isaac, Kelty, Blaze and Braden, a sister, Betty McFarland, Victora, BC; and brother, Loran (Winnie) Fraser, Enfield; and special friend, Jacob; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Isnor and seven siblings.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Monday, September 22nd in Ettinger Funeral Home, 860 Highway 2, Elmsdale. Funeral will be celebrated in Riverview United Church 2pm Tuesday, September 23rd. Rev. Natalie Buchana-Rutherford officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial to follow in Elmsdale Cemetery.
