PERRY, Marie Winifred – age 91, passed away on September 9, 2025, at The Magnolia Continuing Care, Enfield. Born in East Green Harbour, she was a daughter of the late James and Mabel Burke.

Marie was a child of God, her faith was a huge aspect of her life. She was a loving, true and gentle soul who always had great strength and faith throughout the hardest times. Marie was an incredibly hard worker; no job was too big for her to take on. When she and her husband moved to Ontario, they opened and operated a service station, Marie could be found pumping gas and checking oil (among many other jobs). Eventually her, Preston and the family moved home to start a new adventure, a farm. Marie was an avid reader and could often be found reading a book between taking care of her family and farm chores. She was a dedicated wife and mother and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Marie is survived by her children, Nancy McKenna (Norm), Ruby Nickerson, Phillip Perry (Sandra), Cindy Brown (Greg); grandchildren, Aimee, Joey, Alex, Charlene, Matthew, Josh, Rachel, Erica; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jordan, Lucas, Sam, Max, Melody, Chloe, Jaina, Carter, Jade, Olivia, Taryn; siblings, Muriel (Herbin), Rhoda, Mildred; Sivella (Wayne); numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Preston; sisters, Nora and Kay; brothers in law, Lawrence, James, Harry; and a brother in infancy.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm Sunday, September 14th at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River. Rev. Peter McDonald officiating.
