In Loving Memory of

Ella Victoria “Tory” Hustins

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ella Victoria Hustins, who passed away peacefully on the evening of September 3rd, 2025, at the age of 89 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born and raised in Sackville, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Henry Burton and Violet (Maxwell) Langille. 

Tory met and married the love of her life, George Hustins. Together, they moved to various towns across Ontario while George served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. They later returned to Nova Scotia, living in Sackville, Beaver Bank, and Mount Uniacke before settling in Elmsdale in 1968 to raise their family. In later years, Ella lived in Lantz and eventually Enfield, where she resided at the time of her passing.

Our mom was a beautiful soul—full of life, never without a smile, and rarely seen with a frown. Her greatest passions were baking, cooking, and caring for her family. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, always greeting others with the warmest of smiles.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Duffy (Danny), Mark Hustins (Anne), and Darren Hustins; her sisters, Shirley Jollimore (Brian) and Diane Lindsay (Stephen); her brothers, Ivan Langille and Graham Langille (Marion); eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Tory was predeceased by her loving husband of over 60 years, George Hustins; her brothers Vernon Langille, Rollie Langille and Bernard (Buddy) Taylor and her nephews, David Langille and Terrence Langille.

We would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Center for their compassion and professionalism, for making our mom's last days as comfortable as possible.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held 1-3pm with personal remarks to be shared at 2pm on Saturday, September 13th in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie.  A graveside service for close family and friends will be held at 11am Sunday, September 14th in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan, Nova Scotia.
