SCOTT, Donald Edward- age 88, of Shubenacadie, passed away on August 28, 2025, in Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born in Shubenacadie, he was the son of the late John and Edith (Reid) Scott.
Donald worked as a teacher in the public school system, ending his career as a guidance counsellor at Hants East Rural High School. He was a lifelong member of Shubenacadie United Church, serving on numerous committees. Donald was involved in the Scouting movement for over 55 years and received the prestigious Silver Acorn award. Donald was also known for his thoughtful “card ministry,” regularly sending notes to friends for special occasions or to offer words of encouragement during illness.
He is survived by his first cousins, Nancy (Wayne) Langille, Patsy MacPhee, Willie (Faye) Courtney, Miriam Dindore, Jim (Bev) Clark, Gwen MacPhee, Michael (Debbie) and Janette Burke.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3pm Wednesday, September 3rd in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie, refreshments will be provided. A private interment will follow in Preeper Hill Cemetery.
