BROOKS, Leonard Breton – age 64, of Halifax, formerly Indian Brook, passed away on July 8th, 2025, at home. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Leonard Sr. and Geraldine (Paolini) Brooks. He was raised since he was 5 years old by the late Leo and Catherine “Katie” Paul.
Leonard loved biking around the city with the occasional trip to Indian Brook to visit family and friends.
Leonard is survived by his daughter, Rose (Mike) Michael; grandchildren, Zane, Arinessa and one unborn grandchild; sister, Rose (Curtis) Michael; other siblings, Liz Hamond, Susan, John Brooks, Joseph Brooks, Susan Kiowa; foster brother, Rufus Copage; foster sisters, Sharon Copage and Sheila Doyle.
Besides his parents and foster parents, he was predeceased by 3 foster brothers and 1 foster sister.
He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will take place 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 18th, 2025, at St. Kateri’s Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook. Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Cremation to follow.
