Obituary of Heather Lee Agnew

Please share a memory of Heather to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Heather Lee Agnew,  age 62,

of Nine Mile River, formerly of Milford, passed away at home on July 2, 2025. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of late Charles and Susan (Burns) Gerrior.

Heather was a devoted mother and wife first and foremost. Her love for her family was unwavering. If you were lucky enough to call yourself a close friend, you can be sure she treated you and your children as her family as well.

Heather retired from Maritime Tel & Tel (Bell Aliant) in 2017 after 34 years. She began her career as an operator and advanced through the company making life long friends. Her loyalty and business acumen made her a force to be reconned with and was respected (or sometimes feared) by those she worked with.

Since retiring from Bell Aliant, one of Heather’s favourite pass times was cooking and baking. She enjoyed feeding a crowd, the more you ate the better! You could always find lots of good food on the boat, at the camp, or wherever Heather was. You would never leave hungry…of food, laughter or love.

Heather was on the go everyday, making it hard to keep up with her hair or nail appointments, the coffee or lunch dates she attended with old work friends or her gym girls. Heather always made time for birthday and regular lunches with her brother and sister in Trenton.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joseph; son Dylon, daughter in law Dee-ann; sister Verna (Frank) Bates; brothers Brian (Jane) Gerrior, Russell (Cindy) Gerrior and Robert (Tracey) Gerrior; brother in law Glenn (Debbie) Agnew, Paul (Joann) Agnew; Sister in law Connie Agnew and Wanda Price as well as several nieces and nephews. Heather was the most excited to welcome her first grandchild in the fall.

Heather was predeceased by her mother and father,  brother in law, Ross Agnew, Derek Price and sister in law Sandra Agnew.

Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Milford Rec Hall, 2288 Highway 2, Milford, NS on July 9, 2025 at 3pm.
