Obituary of Donald Albert Woodworth

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Donald Albert Woodworth on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born and raised in Lantz, he was a son of the late Grant and Oris (Isenor) Woodworth.

Donnie lived and worked his entire life in Lantz, spending 43 years with Shaw Brick. He started working at an earlier age first in the stockroom, later as a foreman in the plant, and finally as a superintendent with Shaw Brick.  He enjoyed playing ball for Lantz in his earlier years, bowling, camping, cottage life, and watching his beloved Montreal Canadiens.  Donnie will be most remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and kind heart.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Woodworth and his children, Troy Woodworth (Shannon Donovan) of Hammonds Plains and Kyia (Billy) McMullen of Oxbow, Saskatchewan.  He is also survived by his grand-daughter, Joely.  He will also be sadly missed by his sisters and their families, as well as many extended family members.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Angela Claire, and his parents Grant and Oris Woodworth.

Many thanks for the care and comfort Donnie received during his short stay at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, to the Palliative Care unit staff and Dr. Laura Moeller.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.  A celebration of life will take place 11am, Friday, July 4, 2025 at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Dr. Jane Magrath officiating.

Donations in his name can be made to the St. George’s cemetery fund.
