Obituary of Kassidy Nichole Elizabeth Carpenter
CARPENTER, Kassidy Nichole Elizabeth - age 27, was born on July 5, 1997, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and passed away on June 17, 2025, at the QEII Infirmary Site, Halifax, due to complications from a sudden and severe blood infection.
From the very beginning, Kassidy carried an undeniable light — fierce, sensitive, and uniquely her own. Despite the challenges, she faced life with courage and a deep love for her siblings that never wavered. Kassidy loved her siblings and lived for them in every way she possibly could. They were her heart — her reason, her joy and her strength. She was fiercely protective and endlessly proud of them, even through life’s most difficult moments. Her deepest bond was with her grandmother Tina, known lovingly as Marma — a name Kassidy gave her when she couldn’t quite say “Grandma.” That same sweet spirit also nicknamed her grandfather Francis as “Parpa” and her Aunt Heather as “Hee Hee”. Kassidy had a special gift for renaming the people she loved.
Kassidy had a wild, gentle spirit. She loved to travel — especially for music festivals, where she could lose herself in rhythm, joy, and connection. She was particularly devoted to the artist Lost Frequencies, whose music stirred something deep in her. Her laugh, when she was truly at peace, could light up a whole room — loud, contagious, and impossible not to join in. She was drawn to meaning and beauty — collecting gemstones and crystals over the years, each chosen with love. She also loved tattoos and had so many of them, each one telling part of her story. Her body was a canvas, and she wore it with pride and honesty, each piece a reflection of what mattered to her.
Though her journey was not without pain, Kassidy carried within her a radiant beauty — not just in her presence, but in her empathy, her loyalty, and her desire to keep going. She lived with her heart wide open, and those who truly knew her, felt the depth of that love.
Kassidy is survived by her beloved “Parpa”, Francis Babin; siblings, Zackary, Kennady, and Kaydence; aunts Heather “Hee Hee” (Rodrigo), Priscilla, Martina (Fred), Elmira (Cyril), Natasha (Kevin), Cora; uncles Christopher (Susan), Darryl (Amanada); Nanny Lynn.
She was predeceased by her parents, Wendy Marie Carpenter and Everett William Steward Horton.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. A celebration of life will be held at the Carroll’s Corner Community Center, 9 Milford Road, Carrolls Corner, from 1-3pm on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025.
