Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Sibley

SIBLEY, Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” – age 79, of Meaghers Grant, passed away May 27, 2025 in the Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth. Born in Elderbank, he was a son of the late Elmer and Una (Killen) Sibley.

Growing up on the family farm, Kenny had a strong work ethic from a very young age. He then worked in the woods, and for various construction companies over the years, namely Merlin Kerr Woodworker’s and BD Stevens and many others. After retiring, Kenny worked installing metal roofs and kept busy until very recently. He and Rowena enjoyed travelling, driving across Canada in 1979, to Florida several times, Jamaica, an Alaskan cruise and many trips out west to Calgary, and “Sunday Drives”. Kenny loved to talk and there were no short conversations with him if he had time. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Rowena (Ashley), children, Tammy (John), Antonick, Kendall, Susan (Terry) Henry; grandchildren, Janessa (Bruce), Paige (Nick), Spencer (Kayleen), Rickson, Ryley, Chantalle and Matthew; great grandson, Luke; sister, Sheila Shellnutt; aunt, Mary Andrews; several sisters in-law, and brothers in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roderick.

Visitation will be held 2-4pm Saturday, May 31^st in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where a funeral service will be held 1PM Sunday, June 1^st, Rev. Allan Lynk officiating.
