Obituary of Donna Marlene McDonald

MCDONALD, Donna Marlene - age 80, of Admiral Rock, passed away on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Claire (Beazley) Casey.

 

Donna was a stay at home mom and took care of her home and family. She was a knitter, cook, baker and loved spending time with children, grandchildren, friends. Her home was always a fun and safe place to visit, she would welcome anyone who came through the door despite the age. She was a card player. She loved her Wednesday night Auction 45's at the Admiral Rock Hall. She loved baking for special events (i.e party or potluck). When her husband became a long haul trucker in 1995 she was a traveler of the highways and byways of the United States.

 

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kevin; daughters, Kathy, Debbie and Jennifer; her grandchildren Annie, Greg, Christine and James; great grandchildren, Logan, Riley, Casey and Frankie; brother, Michael (Helen) Casey, Souris, PEI; sister-in-law, Mary Jane McDonald (Stewiacke); many nieces and nephews and friends.

 

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Donald Frederick (d1981) and recently her sister, Carole (Feb 8th).

 

Visitation will take place at 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, May 26th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am, on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, at

St. Kateri's Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook. Cremation to follow.
