Obituary of Myrene Clarissa Horne
HORNE (NIEFORTH), Myrene C., age 88, of Enfield, passed away peacefully at home with family on May 16, 2025. Born in Lantz, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Elizabeth (Byng) Nieforth.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Myrene. She touched the lives of many with her cheerful kind-hearted nature. She was truly a selfless person, always putting others first. She was a devoted family person and deeply loved all her children and grandchildren. She often put on large family dinners on holidays and special occasions. She was an amazing cook. Her homemade bread was a big favourite amongst most people. She had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. In the summer, she loved spending time at Grand Lake with family and close friends. She and our father, Vaughan, shared a lot of laughs over the years with their best friends, Leo and Mardy Horne. She worked several jobs earlier in her life but her main focus was taking care of her family. Although she had many health issues over the years, she took them all in stride. Her strength and resiliency was inspirational. It was even noted many times by physicians. During her last year, many Homecare workers remarked that she was their favourite visit of the day. She often complimented them on their appearance and told them, “you be careful out there,” as they left her room.
“To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
– Thomas Cambell
